Unkai - Vienna

The name “Unkai” means ‘sea of clouds’ and you will definitely feel close to the sky on the 7th floor of the Grand Hotel Wien. The head chef Hiroshi Sakai serves a selection of both traditional and innovative Japanese cuisine. Why not try some sushi and sashimi, or watch the fantastic culinary show as your food is cooked before your very eyes at the Teppanyaki table? In 2010 Unkai was awarded 2 stars that is 15/20 by the gourmet guide Gault Millau, as well as the prize for best ethnic cuisine. The restaurant itself is decorated in traditional Japanese style with paper appliqués, Japanese fabrics and traditional rugs.

  • UNKAI GOZEN: traditional menu with sashimi and dim sum with rice, pickled and miso soup
  • Unkai Maki: cucumber, carp, prawns, avocado, royal salmon
