Town Hall - Seville

The Town Hall on the Plaza Nueva is an attractive 19th century Neoclassical building. We suggest you walk around it so that you can admire its Plateresque façade, which overlooks the Plaza San Francisco (or San Francisco Square). This is a typically Spanish, exuberant style which combines late Gothic with Italian Renaissance and mudejar, or Eastern, art. You will therefore see plants and strange animals delicately engraved in the stones. ""Plateresque"" actually means ""in the manner of silversmiths"" as this extraordinarily complex style resembles the ornate work of a silversmith.
