The Marionette Theatre - Salzburg

The Salzburg Marionette Theater was founded in 1913 by Anton Aicher, and is one of the world's oldest continually running marionette theatres. During its rich history, the theatre has made many tours of Europe and the former Soviet Union, and of course played many shows in Salzburg itself. Little ones and grown ups alike will adore the performances of classics such as Shakespeare's Midsummer Night's Dream, Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker, Mozart's Bastien and Bastienne, and of course The Sound of Music. For those with but a little time to spare, there is also an hour long programme!
