The Jerusalem Church - Bruges

When you’re in Bruges, you simply can’t miss the Jerusalem Church’s tower! Built during the 15th century, the church has always been privately owned and its striking interior makes it well worth a visit. The church has a raised centre, symbolising the Hill of the Calvary, where Christ was crucified. Departed members of the Adornes family, which owns the church, are laid to rest in several black Tournai stone tombs, complete with very realistic statues of their occupants. It has to be said that the church’s gothic style blended with oriental elements makes it a truly unmissable sight in Bruges.
