Strozzi Palace - Florence

The Strozzi Palace is undoubtedly the loveliest Renaissance palace of the Florentine nobility. In fact the Strozzi family made sure that it was larger than the Medici palace. As was customary in Tuscany, the palace exterior resembles a small fortress which becomes more elegant with each rising storey. The interior, on the other hand, is very open and highly decorative. There's a pretty interior courtyard surrounded with Corinthian columns. The different areas of the Palace lead off from the courtyard. The palace is now managed by a foundation which hosts numerous exhibitions. It is also home to the Gabinetto Vieusseux library and the National Institute for the Study of the ""Rinascimento"" or Renaissance.
