Spanish Riding School - Vienna

The Spanish Riding School is a riding institution which was created in 1572 in order to provide riding training to the Imperial family. The building that you see today dates back to 1729. Today it is dedicated to preserving classical riding styles, and for 430 years has taught traditional Renaissance riding techniques, known as “Hohe Schule”. This tradition is based on the art of studying the natural comportment of the horse before practicing a systematic training program, with the goal of refining the elegance of the horse. The result is an incredible harmony between horse and rider, and is not to be missed!
