Silver Museum (Pitti Palace) - Florence

This museum houses the Medici treasures: you'll find vases encrusted with semi-precious stones that once belonged to Lorenzo il Magnifico and the amber jewels of Maria Madeleine of Austria, as well as ivory, crystal and jewellery belonging to other members of the family. In particular there's a magnificent collection of jewellery from the best workshops in Italy and Europe, covering the 17th to 20th centuries. Recently a selection of contemporary jewellery has been added. Finally, there's a collection of Chinese and Japanese ceramics.


Open daily, 8.15am- 4.30pm (winter) and 8.15am- 7.30pm (summer). Closed the first Monday of each month.
