Semmelweis Museum of Medical History - Budapest

The Semmelweis museum displays exhibitions on the theme of Western medicine from the prehistoric age to the early 20th century. The collection focuses on Hungarian medicine and the Hungarian healthcare system as well as the work of eminent doctor Ignaz Semmelweis, who was the first doctor to advocate hand washing in disinfecting solution.


Open Tuesday-Sunday. 13th March-31st October 10:30am-6pm. 1st November-14th March 10:30am-4pm
