San Marco Convent and Museum - Florence

San Marco is much more than just a convent. Three men were responsible for the building: the politician Cosimo de Medici the Elder for its construction, the artist Fra Angelico for its decoration, and the monk Savonarola for its mysticism. You'll find the first cloister of Renaissance Italy here. Above all, this museum is a place where the spirituality of the works of Fra Angelico - ""the colourist from Paradise "" - is still in evidence today. You'll be able to view such works as his ""Descent of Christ from the Cross"" and ""The Final Judgement"" which will give you an opportunity to appreciate their immense finesse and spirituality.
