San Lorenzo Church - Florence

The Church of San Lorenzo is a favourite destination for visitors to Florence. Why? Well, firstly, it has a political dimension as the burial place of the Medici family. Then there's the fact that it houses a number of masterpieces by major artists. These include the Old and New Sacristies, as well as a collection of sculptures by Verrocchio, Michelangelo and Donatello, most notably the latter's masterpieces, the Bronze Pulpits. There's also the Laurentian Library accessible from the cloister, not to mention the Chapel of the Princes. Finally, the church itself was the work of Brunelleschi, the greatest Florentine architect of the early 15th century.

Opening
