Salzburg City Theatre - Salzburg

The Landestheater was established in 1755, and with the exception of during WWII, has played continually ever since. There is a selection of entertainment available here, with operas, modern plays and classics all on offer. Today, the theatre focuses mainly on fostering the Mozart repertoire, discovering operas beyond the European opera horizon and Baroque and contemporary operas. It especially upholds the principle of an integrated theater for children and young people. The Landestheater has its own theater, opera and dance ensemble, can seat upto 1000 people, and even has its own orchestra- the Mozarteum Orchester Salzburg.
