Piaristenkirche Maria Treu - Vienna

The Piaristenkirche Maria Treu is a Baroque, Roman Catholic parish church on Jodok-Fink square. It was built between 1698 and 1719, according to designs by Lukas Von Hildebrandt, for the Order of Brothers of the Pious Schools, who ran a school not far from the church. The architecture of the church owes much to the stonemasons Sebastian Regondi and Joseph Winker, but it was Mathias Gerl who finished the restructuring of the church in 1753. Even though it was restored in 1890, there is still a magnificent fresco by Franz Anton Maulbertsch in the cupola which you can still admire.
