Minoritenkirche Church - Vienna

The Minoritenkirche is one of the oldest and most artistically important churches in Vienna. The cloister and church of the Minor Friars Convent were founded in 1224 by Leopold VI. What makes this church unique above all is its bell tower, which is very tall and inspired by the Italian ‘Companiles’. The church, which is part of the Franciscan order, has very simple architecture: the entrance is the only decorated element of the façade! You can admire a beautiful statue of the Virgin Mary with Child and a depiction of the crucifixion on the tympanum.
