Ministry of Justice of the Bohemian Court - Vienna

The old Ministry of Justice of the Bohemian court has an impressive regimented façade which could be a monument itself- the building is one of the most beautiful in Vienna! The building was designed by Johann Fischer von Erlach, who was the most eminent Baroque architects. The prominent theme in the design of this building is the number 3: there are 3 stories crowned by a triangular gable and each story is structured in 3 parts. The most impressive part of the building is the ground floor, which is a sort of ‘Arc de Triomphe’, supporting and enhancing the rest of the building. The entrance on the right is embellished with two statues of Atlas, which support a beautiful wrought iron balcony. The stairway between the 1st and 2nd floors is lined by elegant golden statues which are embellished with the Bohemian coat of arms.
