Mercato Centrale - Florence

The ‘Mercato Centrale’ is undoubtedly Florence’s biggest weekly market, if not, as the locals claim, the biggest in Europe. Take your time to wander around the covered market. It dates back to the late 19th century, when Florence was the capital of a reunified Italy. Even if you don’t need any groceries, the market is worth a look. Take a seat in one of the little cafes, enjoy a cappuccino, and watch the hustle and bustle around the stalls.
