Margaret Bridge - Budapest

Margit Híd is a bridge that connects both the Buda and Pest sides of the city with Margaret Island. It was built between 1873 and 1876 by French engineer Ernst Goüin. It was heavily damaged during WWII in an explosion, and the steel to repair it had to be recovered from the river itself. Today it has the heaviest traffic of all the bridges in the city, with both cars and trams crossing its 637.5m length every day.
