Macarena Basilica - Seville

The Basilica's proper name is Nuestra Senora de l'Esperanza (Our Lady of Hope) and it boasts Seville's most famous statue, the Macarena. This magnificent 17th century work represents the Virgin Mary and is very highly revered in Seville. Every year, on Good Friday, a procession carries it through the city.


Open from Monday to Friday: from 9am to 2pm and from 5pm to 8pm. On Saturday and Sunday: 9.30am to 2pm and from 5pm to 9pm.


Free admission. €3 for the museum. Reduced tariff: €1.50.
