Lumina Domestica, the Lamp Museum - Bruges

When the sun goes down, where do we get our light from? From the first grease lamps over 400,000 years ago, right up to the invention of the electric light bulb, you can discover the history of man’s attempts to solve this problem at Lumina Domestica, the museum of artificial light. If you’re a fan of science, or simply of beautiful form, do not miss the chance to visit this museum that brings together over 6,000 pieces, spanning nearly half a million years of human history.
