Griechenbeisl - Vienna

Greichenbeisl is one of the oldest bistros in Vienna (opened in 1447), and it’s always full of a mix of artists, professors and politicians who come here to eat, drink, talk and reflect. Famous figures throughout history from the famous bagpipe player Marx Augustin (all Germans know the famous 17th century song “Oh du lieber Augustin” ‘Oh, my dear Augustin) to Beethoven, Schubert, Wagner, Strauss, Brahms, Waldmüler and Mark Twain have all enjoyed the excellent Viennese cuisine and intimate atmosphere of this bistro. Almost all of them made their mark with an autograph in the famous Mark Twain room. Griechenbeisl is the ideal place to come to sample hearty, traditional cuisine!
