Graben - Vienna

The Graben is one of the main streets in the city centre of Vienna. The ransom paid to liberate King Richard I- more commonly known as Richard the Lionheart - from his Austrian captives paid for this beautiful street. It is the most elegant shopping areas in the city and you will find plenty of high end (read, expensive) boutiques and old purveyors to the Imperial Court of Vienna. The numerous cafés invite you to stop and rest a while, or you can take a stroll in the shadow of the palm trees which give the Graben its noble, end of the century style!
