Ferris Wheel - Vienna

It doesn’t matter whether you go on the Riesenrad, the Ferris wheel to follow the path of the “Third Man” or if you just want to make the most of the magnificent view from 64.75m above the city- you haven’t visited Vienna unless you’ve been on the Riesenrad! It is the most visited tourist attraction in Vienna, and open all year! In 2008, the square around the Riesenrad was rearranged, and today you will find a little nostalgic world which will take you back to the 1900s: at the entrance there is a little “panorama” which explains the history of this huge Ferris wheel. It was built in 1896/7 by the English engineer Walter Basset, and it’s not a unique construction! Basset had already built well loved attractions in Chicago, London, Blackpool and Paris.
