Egg Market - Bruges

The Eiermarkt (Egg Market) is a tiny square located about 30 yards from the city’s main square, the Markt. Here you will discover a limestone fountain that was created by the Bruges sculptor Pieter Pepers in 1761. It is a sort of pedestal, crowned with the lion of Flanders and the Bear of Bruges. Around the square, you will find pretty gabled houses, one of which is from the baroque period. You can recognise it by its snail shell decorations.
