Convent of Madre de Dios - Seville

The Convent of Madre de Dios was a Dominican establishment set up in 1496 in a former synagogue. The buildings as a whole were requisitioned by the Holy Office, in other words the Inquisition, which was based in Seville until the 17th century. You will see some attractive mudejar windows on the convent wall. Mudejar is the frequently exuberant style that combines Oriental and Gothic motifs.
