Cathederal Museum - Salzburg

In the oratories of the Salzburg cathedral you will find the Cathedral Museum, which has a fascinating collection of religious artefacts, including ancient Eucharistic dove and the precious jewel-studded monstrance. St. Rupert's crosier from the 8th century is the oldest exhibit – and one of the oldest occidental reliquaries in the collection. There is also a large collection of artwork and other artefacts that span the 1300 year history of the museum, as well as a natural history section, which displays locally found gems and fossils. In addition to these permanent exhibitions there are also regular temporary exhibitions.
