Basilica of the Holy Blood - Bruges

Located on Burg Square, the Saint-Sang Basilica (Basilica of the Holy Blood) stands out because of its beautiful medieval facade. It is known as a ‘double’ basilica because it contains two superimposed churches. Discover the 12th century St Basil’s Chapel, which is the only Roman chapel in Western Flanders (yet it already shows evidence of the gothic influence). As for the upper chapel, the Chapel of the Holy Blood, you will be amazed by the brilliance of its flamboyant architecture. It houses a relic containing the blood of Christ, brought from the holy land by the Count of Flanders at the end of the second crusade.
