Applied Arts Museum - Budapest

Are you interested in finding out more about traditional Hungarian arts and crafts? Head down to the Museum of Applied Arts to check out their exhibitions on traditional glassmaking, book binding, goldsmith and leatherwork. This Art Nouveau building was built between 1893 and 1896 to the plans of Ödön Lechner and Gyula Pártos. There is also some great furniture from the 18th and 19th centuries, as well as some beautiful Art Nouveau and Art Deco pieces. Be warned though that most of the collection is actually in a 'temporary' exhibition, which costs a bit more to get into. It is well worth a visit just for the stunning architecture!
