Am Hof - Vienna

Am Hof square is the biggest square in the Old Town- it was created during the construction of the palatial House of Babenberg in 1156. The Babenbergs opened Vienna to the world, by developing commerce and amplifying their status to that of Venice. In the centre of the square, you will find a bronze column with a statue of Madonna and Child. The square is surrounded by many beautiful buildings from the 18th and 19th centuries.
