Alcazar - Seville

The Alcazar in Seville will introduce you to one of the most beautiful royal residences in Spain. From its creation in 913 under the Caliph of Cordoba to the present day, this opulent palace has witnessed all the major episodes in Spanish history and it reflects an extraordinary diversity of architectural styles: you will see exquisite examples of mudejar, an art form in which Arab artists placed their valuable expertise at the disposal of the Christians, following the reconquista in the mid-13th century. Over the years, Gothic, and subsequently Renaissance elements were added on. A visit to the Alcazar offers an opportunity to absorb the extraordinary atmosphere of the dimly-lit reception rooms and to breathe in the refreshing fragrance of its gardens.
