The history of AS Monaco

ASM (AS Monaco) is the football club of the Monegasque principality located in the south of France. The club boasts a large charts with seven league titles in France, 5 Coupe de France but above 2 finals of European competitions. Back on a team like no other.

The Beginnings

The Association Sportive de Monaco was born in the summer of 1924, through a sports club (whose Swimming Club) but his first certified stadium, the famous pregnant Louis II, only date of 1939. great coaches

1987 marked a turning point for the club with the arrival as coach Arsene Wenger of Alsatian. He won his first season the league title in France with an impressive team (Hoddle, Sonor, Battiston, Amoros Ettori ...). Arsene Wenger will launch future cracks as Emmanuel Petit or George Weah ... before being replaced in the summer by 95 Jean Tigana win the championship in his second season with Barthez, Henry, Ikpeba or Scifo and lead in stride half of the UEFA cup (defeat against Inter Milan).
