Via del Corso - Roma

Via del Corso, a very busy street, is Rome most important shopping place. By going from Piazza del Popolo to Piazza Venezia, you can have a pleasant one kilometre walk with many shops, churches, Renaissance fa├žades on the way.

It is part of the Tridente, an urbanistic project between the XV and XVIIth century for the refurbishing of the three adjacent streets that led from the Porta del Popolo (main city gate) to Saint-Peter, Saint-John of Latran and Saint-Mary-Major.

To see: the Bonaparte palace of the XVIth century, the baroque Salviati palace, the XIXth century Odescalchi palace, the Doria palace and the Doria Pamphili gallery, the XIVth century Chigi palace, San Marcello church, San Carlo al Corso church, the Piazza Colonna in the middle of which is the column of Marcus Aurelius, the Alberto Sordi gallery, the Piazza del Popolo with its two churches, Santa Maria di Montesanto and Santa Maria dei Miracoli, and the Flaminio obelisk.
