The Iris Garden - Florence

The Iris Garden, located next to the Piazzale Michelangelo, is dedicated to the flower on Florence’s coat of arms: the fleur-de-lis. This green space was designed in 1954, for the occasion of the first International Iris Competition. Since then, participants from the four corners of the globe have sent their best bulbs to Florence, where they are planted and judged after three years. Don’t miss the chance to choose your own favourite from amongst the 2000 types of fleur-de-lis on display in this floral oasis.

24th April- 20th May: open daily, from 10am- 12.30pm and 3pm- 7pm.
