Royal Greenhouses of Laeken - Brussels_(Laeken)

The seven Royal Greenhouses of Laeken, adjacent to the castle, have been accessible to the public for three weeks per year for over a century. The greenhouses usually open in the spring, but be sure to check out the dates on the official website. Designed by the architect Balat in the late 19th century, at the request of Leopold II, these greenhouses are a jewel of Art Nouveau, ranked among the largest greenhouses in the world. At the heart of Park Royal, the greenhouses cover more than 14 000 m² and look like a real Iron Gothic Revival church with a dome 25 meters high and a nave with a dozen chapels. You can admire one of the most spectacular winter gardens of the nineteenth century, with its much sought vegetation of tropical, exotic and subtropical plants - some plants are original, many are rare - but also the workshop of Queen Elizabeth and the stables of the castle of Laeken, built in the early 20th century. Take a beautiful walk in the heart of lush vegetation!
