Plaça Reial - Barcelona

Built between 1850 and 1860, this is the most animated square of the city. The architect Francesco Molina drew his inspiration from both Parisian boulevards and Castilian squares. It is lined with lovely neo-Classical buildings and beneath the archways are cafés and restaurants. The square is embellished with palm trees and street lamps designed by Gaudi.
