Piazza Mino da Fiesole - Fiesole

Piazza Mino is the main square in Fiesole, the ancient Etruscan town located 9km (5.6 miles) away from Florence. You will find Fiesole’s main monuments located in this square: the cathedral, Bishop Jacopo il Bavoro’s palace, the seminary, and the town hall. What makes Piazza Mino especially interesting, however, is Cazolari’s 1906 equestrian statue of Garibaldi. It commemorates Garibaldi’s meeting with King Victor Emmanuel on the 26th of October 1860, which was to lead to the creation of Modern Italy.
