Philopappos monument - Athens

The hill of the Muses, also known as the Musaios hill, is crowned by the monument of Philopappos, a tomb erected in 114 A.D. In honour of a romano-syrian prince and citizen of Athens. The hill offers a beautiful view of the Acropolis. There is also Socrates's prison. It is the very place where he drank a mix of hemlock and died.
