Palazzo Comunale - Fiesole

The Palazzo Communale was built in the second half of the 14th century and its similarity to the Florence's Palazzo Vecchio is striking. The palace was originally Gothic in style but in about 1424, Michelozzo de Bartolomeo added its Renaissance facade and a central tower, so completing the resemblance to its Florentine counterpart. Be sure to climb the tower because the location of Montepulciano, perched on a ridge at an elevation of 2,000 feet, offers some splendid views over the region.
