Palazzo Clementino Caffarelli - Rome

the Palazzo Clementino Caffarelli which stands on the remains of the Temple of Jupiter on Capitoline Hill was built by Ascanio Caffarelli on his family's land in the 16th century. This Palace is located just behind the Palazzo dei Conservatori and is one of the complex of museums on Capitoline Hill which exhibit in particular a very rich collection of antique sculptures and many Renaissance paintings. Even today some ancient remains are still visible in the Palace gardens and it is evident that some elements of the ancient temple were used to underpin the panoramic terrace which was added in the 20th century.
