Museum of Byzantine icons - Venice

The museum of Byzantine icons is located in the first floor of the Scoletta di San Nicolo made by Baldassare Longhena in the XVIIth century. It was the centre of Orthodox cult and was later changed into an hospital. The hospital was inaugurated in 1959 and restored in 1999. There you can admire many icons, miniatures, sacred garments and lithurgical items of high value given by the members of the brotherhood and other Orthodox orders.
