Maxence basilica - Roma

The basilica of Maxentius, being one the most imposing monuments of imperial Rome, was started by the emperor of the same name but finished during Constantine's reign in the IVth century. Covering an area of 100 by 65 metres, it was a place dedicated to administration of justice and commercial matters. It housed a huge statue of Constantine. The vestiges of the statue were moved to the Palace of the Curators located on the Capitol.
