Hephaistos or Theseion Temple - Athens

The temple of Hephaestus, located on the Greek Agora, is also called Theseion or the temple of Theseus because of the frescos representing Theseus's feats. It is undoubtedly the best preserved monument of this era in Athens and surely entire Greece. The fact that it never contained any riches is probably the reason. It was built at the same time as the Parthenon, in the Vth century, and contained a bronze statue of Hephaestus, the god of craftsmen and especially smiths and a statue of Athena also considered the god of craftsmen.
