Galleria dell'Accademia - Florence
The Galleria dell'Accademia is home to famous sculptures by Michelangelo including ""David"" and ""The Four Prisoners"". In addition there's also a collection of religious paintings. Even though they are not very well known, this extensive collection allows us to follow the evolution of painting from the 13th to the 17th century. Finally, you'll see various paintings from the collection of the Grand Duke Pietro Leopoldo, patron of young Florentine artists who studied at the Accademia di Belle Arti which is still located next to the Galleria.
