Curia - Roma - Roma

The Roman Senate gathered in the Curia which designated the building but also the administrative population subdivision within the Empire. The first building was built by the king Tullius Hostilius. After the fire that destroyed the building, Julius Caesar had another one, bigger, built instead. It was inaugurated in 29 B.C. And refurbished during Diocletian's reign. In the VIIth century, the Curia became a church.
