Civilt - Roma

The existence of the museum dates back to 1911 and starts with an exhibition celebrating the 50th anniversary of Italian unification. Located in the halls of Diocletian's thermae, it presents mouldings and reproductions of works from Ancient Rome and the rest of the world which the organizers decided to exhibit permanently. The museum was opened to the public in 1955 and its premises were built in 1942 for Rome World Fair. However, some halls are closed for restoration.

To see: Rome's history, Christianity's, everyday and public life in Rome.
