Church of our Lady of Perpetual Solace - Prague

The Church of Our Lady of Perpetual Succour stands alongside the Thun-Hohenstein Palace, home to the Italian Embassy, on the picturesque Neuronal Street leading up to Prague Castle. It was originally a Theatine church, a religious order founded during the Counter Reformation. Consecrated in 1717, the church is home to a magnificent painting of the Virgin Mary with Saint Cajetan by Jacques Callot. The former Theatine Monastery, which was secularised in the 18th century, was acquired by Count Morzin who ran a passage through it leading to the castle steps and which is still visible today.
