Athens old royal palace - Athens

The Ancient Royal Palace was built between 1836 and 1842. It now hosts the Parliament. Originally, the eidifice was to be located on the Acropolis. It is one of the best examples of the austere and magnificient style that changed Athens aspect, just after the independence. The tomb of the unknown soldier is guarded by evzones, popular soldiers « wearing beautiful belts », the changing of which is a great show. On holidays, they wear women's clothes.

Things to see: the changing of guards (2-3 AM or 3 PM).
