important city of the Dalmatian coast, whose business is based in part on its port, the other on tourism revenues, Zadar has had a history marked by a succession of occupants impressive, as was much the case in this region of Croatia: the Romans, Byzantines, Hungarians and the Venetians, even the Austrians took control of the city. Zadar suffered extensive damage during the twentieth, bombed during the Second World War and then again in 1991!
